Full Professor, Head physician of the Department of ambulatory care

Place: Lausanne, Switzerland

Unisanté covers general medicine and primary care, health promotion and prevention, care for vulnerable populations, occupational medicine, public health, health system organization, as well as research and university teaching. Its aim is to maintain and improve the health of the population. Unisanté cares for people as individuals and as members of a community, integrating their personal, family, professional, social, and environmental contexts. 

The Department of ambulatory care (Département des Policliniques – DDP) provides general medical consultations and outpatient care for patients with chronic illnesses. The DDP includes a consultation service for manual medicine and ambulatory psychiatry. The department also runs an academic and community pharmacy, which provides pharmaceutical assistance, therapeutic adherence and EMS pharmacy services, as well as teaching and academic research. The DDP is responsible for a Level 1 General Internal Medicine Postgraduate Training Center, certified by the Swiss Institute of Medical Education. The DDP is involved in clinical research, particularly in the fields of clinical epidemiology, screening, shared decision making, and gender aspects of care.

Main missions:

• Lead the Unisanté Department of ambulatory care and ensure the conduct of clinical, teaching and research activities in the field of ambulatory general internal medicine

• Maintain and develop its own academic activities in the field through competitive research and pre- and post-graduate teaching at professorial level

• Ensure the clinical follow-up of outpatients in general internal medicine

• Participate in the organization and development of Unisanté, by forging collaborative links with other clinical departments.

Desired Profile: we are looking for a doctor who can demonstrate recognized research and teaching in the field of diagnosis and treatment in general medicine.

• Federal degree in medicine (or Mebeko recognition required), MD or MD-PhD

• ISFM specialist title in general internal medicine (or Mebeko recognition required)

• Solid practical experience in the field of primary care; with a special interest in community health

• Academic knowledge of faculty rank with proven practice in pre and postgraduate teaching

• Ability to develop clinical research programs supported by expert external funding

• Capacity for interdisciplinary and networked collaboration with other research groups, including at an international level

• Proven and certified managerial skills in leading and managing a large/multisite team. Large project management experience

• Proficiency in French (level at least B2, C1 ideally) or ability to acquire it quickly
